Travel, Tourism and Local Information for The Caribbean

Welcome to Best of the Caribbean

You have found the Best place to find the Best of the Caribbean. Whether you are on vacation, on holiday, on business, or even honeymoon, we will help you find all of the best places to see, best things to do, and best things to buy while you are here. If you are heading to a specific destination, start with that island, or, if you haven't quite decided where to go yet, look at the region as a whole and find all the best things that are offered by each of the Caribbean islands.

The Caribbean is home to some of the most beautiful locales in the world. From sandy beaches to tropical shores, the islands of the Caribbean have no equal anywhere in the world.

While the islands are awe inspiring in their own right, it is the peoples of the Caribbean islands that make vacationing in this paradise a life changing experience. There are so many cultures, languages, customs and smiles to be seen, and each island nation makes their own unique addition to the Caribbean culture as a whole.

Many of the islands were a part of the empire of a European monarchy at one time, and even though most are now sovereign and independent, the cultural influences of their previous ruling nations have intemingled with the rich traditions and cultures of the new Caribbean nations to produce a flavor that is unknown anywhere else.

The Caribbean Islands are part of an archipeligo 2,500 miles long and 160 miles wide. There are more than 7,000 islands, reefs, cays, and islets. The region is home to more than 38 million Caribbeans.

Tourists flock to the Caribbean Islands for a variety of reasons. The year-round moderate climate, beautiful geography, and duty-free incentives are a few of these. Tourism is by far the largest export for the region, and many of the caribbean governments have created incentives to attract tourists. Many islands have areas where there is no duty or taxes on certain items, and many great deals on jewelry, watches, electronics, precious metals and gems can be found. The artistry of the local craftsmen is astounding, and pieces from artists in the region can be found in museums and galleries around the world. The Caribbean themes often include vibrant colors, detailed scenic panoramas, and cultural stories.

The cuisine of the Caribbean region is unlike any other, and there are many traditional island dishes to be sampled. A variety of spices, from 'mild and full of flavor' to 'take me to the hosptial my tongue is on fire' and everything in between. Several of the best dishes include ingredients that are only found in the Caribbean, and sometimes only on that particular island. If you are adventurous, make sure to try as many local favorites as possible as you may not find them anywhere else in the world.
